There is nothing like having a bowl of hot Creamy Chicken Macaroni Soup to make you feel warm and comfy on a cold day, especially during this time when the temperature outside starts to get chilly. :-(

But, what is a creamy chicken macaroni soup? It is a tasty Filipino-style chicken soup with shredded chicken meat, elbow macaroni pasta, carrots, cabbage and evaporated milk.

Filipinos may have different ways and styles on how to cook it, but this recipe we’re going to teach you is probably the most common way. ;-)

Here are the ingredients you need to prepare. ;-) Macaroni Soup2

  1 lb boneless chicken breasts
  1 cup diced carrots
  1 cup diced celery
  2 bowls boiled elbow macaroni pasta
  1 head cabbage
  3 tablespoon cooking oil
  1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  1 medium onion, chopped
  1 large garlic clove, minced
  3 cups water
  7 cups chicken broth
  salt and ground black pepper to taste

It’s all done! Let’s start cooking! :-D



1. Boil 3 cups water in a pot. Add the chicken breast. Cover and cook for 15-18 minutes. Add more water if needed.

2. Separate the chicken from the water. Let the chicken cool down and then shred. Set both shredded chicken and water aside.Macaroni Soup4

3. Heat oil in a large soup pot. Sauté the garlic until it turns medium brown. Add onion, celery, and carrot. Continue to sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.

5. Add the shredded chicken. Stir and cook for 1 minute.Macaroni Soup6

6. Put the elbow macaroni in the pot. Cook for 10 minutes.

7. Add the cabbage. Stir and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. (Note: You can add more water if needed.)Macaroni Soup7

8. Pour the evaporated milk. Stir, let boil, cover and cook for another 3 minutes.

9. Season with a pinch of salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir.

10. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve! ;-)
